Google News 20th Anniversary: A Conversation about News 2022

Part networking, part drinks, part fireside chat… all celebration! To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Google News, we hosted a special evening filled with nostalgic birthday party fun and a small dose of education. By bringing together leaders in tech, journalists and Googlers, the evening stimulated conversations about where news came from and where it was going. From our Jumbo Word Search wall about 2012 top news to our old-time goodie bag candy bar, the party packed enjoyable experiences at each turn. The cherry on top of the night was the fireside chat between Emilio Garcia Ruiz (Editor in Chief of the San Francisco Chronicle) and four incredible women changing the industry like Abby Phillip from CNN and Gina Chua (Executive Editor of Semafor). Guests mingled around the custom Google colored drinks and amusing mini bites. Each attendee received a memorable tote bag filled with pun-tastic news swag as the night came to an end.
